Clinics

Living to Serve organizes with over 20 churches and mission teams internationally that come to Guatemala to serve our most remote communities. Missions often include medical and dental clinics, installation of stoves and water filters, food packages for senior citizens, and Bible school for children of the community.

Preventative Health

Many rural families do not have proper stoves or water systems. They must cook on the floor indoors, which causes respiratory and skin problems and risks burns to toddlers. They drink unclean water, increasing their risk to disease and parasite exposure. Families receive Chispa stoves and water filters to remediate these health dangers.

Nutrition

In Alta Verapaz, a disproportionate number of children are born with cleft lip or palate, at almost twice the rate of children born in the United States. The nutrition program seeks to prevent the problems that cause this condition and provide remedial care to those already born, who are eventually treated surgically.

Elderly Care.png

Elderly Care

Due to the rural and mountainous nature of Guatemala, it is common that the elderly far from regular contact are forgotten, neglected, or simply too difficult to reach regularly for care. We travel to the homes of our elderly to provide them with food and company to keep them healthy and happy.

Education

In Guatemala, there is a serious lack of access to education. Our education program gives our students from remote communities the opportunity of education and all the doors it can open. Our students are incredibly dedicated and hike and ride buses for hours to get to school every week.
